Linen dress

Linen dress for mum.

She has always enjoyed the qualities of linen.  I sent her some photos of linen dresses from Pinterest and asked her to choose the parts she liked. She asked for a collar, longish sleeves, just below knee length, a little loose but not too baggy. I asked dad what he liked in a dress for mum and he said he has always liked an army shirt look.

So this is what I came up with. It is the loveliest fabric to sew. It's 50% cotton and 50% linen. I made it to fit me. She is a bit smaller than me, probably a 10 where I am a 10-12. It is loose enough to fit someone from 10 to 12 easily. I added a tie so she can reign it in if she feels swamped.

10 x 10 ready to go

It takes just as long to prepare these little guys for sale as it did to create them.

The little paper mache bathing people are set out from the background on foam. The back is also foam with a ribbon threaded through it for hanging

The aztec styled canvas's are stitched onto felt with a crochet loop stitched on for hanging.
